His Laugh has been found!

Over the weekend we went to a family reunion in NE Iowa (hubby's side).  It was great to see everyone and meet alot of extend family. There were several great-grandchildren there, Charlie was the youngest. All the little ones were in different stages; one just a month older than mine, another just learning to walk and the last was walking but still that tipsy topsy kind of walk!  It made me excited for all these upcoming milestones for our little guy.

While at the reunion my husbands step-sister watched Charlie while I had to step away. When I came back she had Charlie laughing! It wasn't just the sleepy chuckle we've heard in the past. This was a full on belly laugh, it was so great!

Our trip also had a more mellow side to it. When I was growing up my paternal grandmother had a miniature toy poodle named Gidget. Due to extenuating circumstances Gidget came to live with our family. My father and I became her favorites in the family. So when Gidget passed away my grandmother had her cremated. About a year before my grandmother passed away she gave me Gidget's ashes, which has been stored up in my closet.  Since my grandmother passed away 7 years ago, I've always meant to go back to the cemetery and spread Gidget's ashes at her grave site.

Well my paternal grandparents are buried in Nashua which is another 50 miles north of the reunion. Since we were so close my husband agreed to make the extra trek to the cemetery. I was finally able to lay Gidget's ashes to rest with her original favorite!
