My Crafting Baby Shower

So yesterday my two best friends threw a baby shower for me. It was wonderful and there was a good turn out of people in spite of the snowy weather.

I wanted to have a non-traditional shower and thankfully my girlfriends were up for the change. So instead of the typical games like; guessing the baby food or the chocolate poop in the diaper type games, it was a crafty shower.

We had 5 stations:
  1. Baby Prediction cards
  2. Onesie decorating
  3. Guess the number of toys in a large jar
  4. Wooden block decorating
  5. Guess the price of baby products
So after eating lunch guests were given a number and told to start at that station and then move to the next one. That way everyone didn't bottle neck at the first station, etc.

Also instead of sitting around watching me open presents we put a comment on the invite
"The adorable baby gifts will be put on display –
So no need to wrap in any way-
a ribbon or twine will do just fine,
leaving us free to visit and dine!"
I have found in the past that while I love to see what someone has been given, I think that its boring watching them open gifts whether it be a baby or bridal shower.  I was a little worried that people might be offended or put off by the suggestion. But from the few I talked to it seemed to go over well, or at least no one told me directly that it was stupid. :o)  So we had a table set up for the gifts and then large 'from' tags to attach to the gifts with the name of the giver. I'll have to add a picture of the table, etc.
